Wooden Butter Knife
I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with these, but I am. I’ve always loved a wooden butter knife; long before I started bringing them home from Marrakech. If you’re going to smooth butter on a crumpet, you might as well do it with style. There’s just something more beautiful, more put-together, about using a wooden one. One is always perched on top of my butter dish at home.
These butter knives are crafted by a team of six artisans who share a single workshop in the Marrakech medina; a place I return to again and again. Their studio is an emporium of carved wooden pieces, each shaped by hand and full of warmth and character.
A small, simple pleasure but a surprisingly lovely one to add to your kitchen.
